Drag racing in Forza Horizon 6 is a launch and acceleration contest, not a top-speed contest. That favours AWD cars that can put enormous power down without wheelspin. The Nissan GT-R Black Edition Forza Edition comes up most often: one drag guide credits it with around 3,000 horsepower and quarter-mile runs of roughly 6.3 to 6.5 seconds.

A recent meta guide says the Mazda MX-5 Miata Forza Edition and the GT-R FE consistently trade world-record times, with the Miata at about 6.4 seconds on an AWD tune and the GT-R at about 6.49. All quarter-mile times below are player-reported and depend heavily on the tune.

Are there cheap drag cars?

Yes. Drag guides repeatedly mention the Wuling Sunshine as cheap to buy and surprisingly fast once built for drag. The 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Forza Edition is another accessible pick; Forza Factory's Irokawa guide uses it for an easy sub-9-second run, improving to about 7.6 seconds when fully upgraded.

If you have the credits, the MX-5 Miata Forza Edition is the best value at 450,000 CR, because it competes with the GT-R for records. For credit methods, see the money farm guide.

How do you set up a drag tune?

  1. Convert to AWD if the car allows it. AWD launches are more consistent than RWD hypercars.
  2. Strip weight and fit drag tyres, with the widest rear tyres available.
  3. Soften the suspension so weight transfers to the rear at launch.
  4. Set the gearing for the quarter mile rather than for top speed: the final gear should top out just after the finish line.
  5. Shift manually. FH6Wiki says the Jesko Absolut's time needs manual shifting because the automatic gearbox shifts too early and costs about 0.15 seconds.
  6. Test, change one value at a time and re-run. A share code from a proven tuner is the quicker route; see the tuning calculator guide.

Where is the Irokawa Quarter Mile drag meet?

The Irokawa Quarter Mile is the drag meet most guides use for benchmarking, and it has featured in Festival Playlist challenges. Irokawa is also home to the Irokawa Space Center, which hosts the Launch Control Horizon Rush course. Forza Factory's guide for the meet focuses on an easy sub-9-second tune rather than world-record builds.

Completing any Drag Meet unlocks the Fresh Tire Smoke achievement, per the Xbox achievement list. See the achievements guide for the full list.

Why isn't the fastest car the best drag car?

The Toyota AE86 Forza Edition tops tuned top-speed charts at about 324 mph, but a quarter mile is over long before any car reaches top speed. Launch, traction and the first three gears decide the result. That is why the GT-R FE, which also rates 10 for launch and acceleration in Timesaver's data, dominates drag while the AE86 dominates long straights. The fastest car page covers the top-speed side.
