How many people played Forza Horizon 6 at launch?
Premium early access opened on May 15, 2026, and drew just over 172,000 concurrent Steam players on day one. On launch day, May 19, TechPowerUp reported 273,148 concurrent players nine hours after release, compared with 81,086 for Forza Horizon 5 at its 2022 Steam peak. SteamDB records the all-time peak as 302,645 on May 24, during release week; Tracker.gg lists a near-identical 302,531.
That made it the most-played Xbox Game Studios release ever on Steam, ahead of Halo Infinite, and put it in Steam's top five most-played games at the time.
How many players across all platforms?
Playground announced that Forza Horizon 6 passed 6 million players one week after early access opened, two days after the full launch. That count includes Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Game Pass and Steam, so it measures players rather than copies sold. Xbox's Asha Sharma called it the biggest early access launch in the series.
How many copies has Forza Horizon 6 sold?
Microsoft has not published a sales figure. A Windows Central headline says the game has reportedly sold 6.4 million copies on Xbox and PC; that is a reported estimate, not an official number. Because the Standard Edition is on Game Pass, player counts and sales differ significantly for this game.
How has the Steam player count changed?
SteamDB showed 13,901 people playing at one point on September 30, 2026, and Tracker.gg listed the 24-hour peak as 25% lower than 30 days earlier. The community frustration covered on the developer statement page is part of the context for that decline.

What do Steam numbers miss?
Steam charts only count Steam players. Forza Horizon 6 is also on Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app and Game Pass, and streams through Xbox Cloud Gaming, none of which appear in SteamDB. The real number of active players is higher than any Steam figure, but Microsoft does not publish ongoing totals.
