When does Forza Horizon 6 come out on PS5?

The Standard and Deluxe Editions release on PlayStation 5 on January 26, 2027. The Premium Edition unlocks five days earlier, on January 21, 2027. Playground Games announced both dates in its October 8, 2026 post on Forza.net.

Game Rant reports that both unlocks happen at 12:01 a.m. local time, so there is no single global start hour. Forza.net does not list a time of day, so treat midnight local time as the expected unlock until Sony's store page says otherwise.

Why did the PS5 version slip into 2027?

When the May 19 launch was announced, the PS5 version was promised for later in 2026. Kotaku and VICE report that Playground repeated in September that it would release on PS5 later this year.

In early October, the leaker billbil-kun reported the January 26, 2027 date on Dealabs, and Push Square covered the leak. Playground confirmed the same date a day later. No official reason for the delay has been given; Pure Xbox and others note that the PS5 launch now lines up with the first paid expansion, but the studio has not said that this was the reason.

Which PS5 edition should you pre-order?

The three editions match the Xbox and PC versions. Forza.net lists the Standard Edition as the full game, the Deluxe Edition as the game plus Welcome Pack and Car Pass, and the Premium Edition as everything in Deluxe plus VIP Membership, the Time Attack Car Pack, the Italian Passion Car Pack, Expansion 1 and Expansion 2.

How does Forza Horizon 6 run on PS5?

Forza.net says its PS5 trailer was captured on a base PS5 in a 4K 30FPS Quality mode, and that a 60FPS Performance mode will also be available. PS5 Pro specifics have not been announced, so a Pro enhancement is still to be confirmed.

The port is built by Panic Button, the studio that brought Forza Horizon 5 to PS5, working with Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios. Xbox Series X uses a similar 30FPS quality and 60FPS performance split; the Forza Horizon 6 Xbox page has those numbers for comparison.

Can PS5 players play with Xbox and PC players?

Yes. Forza.net states that the PS5 version will support cross-platform play and cross-save with the Xbox and Steam versions. User-made content such as liveries, tunes and EventLab events is cross-platform, so PS5 players get the existing community library from day one.

How do you pre-order Forza Horizon 6 on PS5?

1. Open the PlayStation Store on your PS5 or in a browser and search for Forza Horizon 6. Pre-orders went live on October 8, 2026.
2. Pick Standard, Deluxe or Premium. Only Premium unlocks on January 21; the other two unlock on January 26.
3. Confirm the purchase. The pre-tuned Ferrari J50 is tied to the pre-order, not to a specific edition.
4. On launch day, start the game, finish the prologue, and the Ferrari J50 appears in your garage.
5. Prefer a disc? Forza.net says the disc edition is sold at participating retailers; check the retailer's listing for which edition it is.

What will PS5 players have missed by January?

Forza Horizon 6 runs a rotating Festival Playlist: each series lasts about four weeks, and its seasonal reward cars change every Thursday. By January 2027 the game will have cycled through Series 1 to at least Series 7 on Xbox and PC, including the British Automotive series and the current 7-Eleven themed Horizon Meets series. Whether older playlist reward cars return later is still to be confirmed.

Should you wait for PS5 or play somewhere else now?

If you also own an Xbox Series X|S or a gaming PC, you can play now and move to PS5 later, because cross-save follows your Microsoft account. The Standard Edition is included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate can stream it through Xbox Cloud Gaming, so a subscription is the cheapest way to try it before committing to a PS5 copy.

Is Forza Horizon 6 on PS4?

No. Every announcement names PlayStation 5 only, and the game targets current-generation hardware: it also skipped Xbox One as a native release. There is no PS4 version listed on the PlayStation Store or on Forza.net.

What else arrives with the PS5 launch?

Expansion 1 releases on January 21, 2027 on every platform, and a free content update for all players launches alongside the PS5 version. Playground has not detailed either one yet.
