Forza Horizon 6 DLC: Expansion 1, Car Pass and Car Packs

What DLC does Forza Horizon 6 have?

Steam lists 31 DLC entries for Forza Horizon 6, but most are individual car packs and cosmetic bundles. The pieces that matter for most players are below. All of them are cross-platform: they work on Xbox, PC and, from January 2027, PS5.

There is no product called a Japan Pass. Searches for it almost always mean the Car Pass, which delivers a car every week.

When does Expansion 1 come out and what is in it?

Expansion 1 releases on January 21, 2027 for every platform, the same day PS5 Premium early access begins. PS5 owners of Standard or Deluxe can play it from January 26, when their game unlocks. Playground announced the date on October 8, 2026.

Contents are still mostly unknown. Traxion reports a new location, more vehicles and new gameplay, but Playground has not named the setting or listed the cars. A free content update for all players launches at the same time. For comparison only, Forza Horizon 5's first expansion, Hot Wheels, added a separate map of stunt tracks; nothing confirms FH6 will follow the same pattern.

Is there an Expansion 2?

Yes. Forza.net lists Expansion 2 in the Premium Edition with a later date, and no release window has been given yet. Anyone who buys Premium or the Premium Upgrade now gets it automatically when it launches.

How does the Car Pass work?

The Car Pass started on May 19, 2026 and delivers 30 cars, one each Thursday, straight into your garage at no in-game cost. It also gives an eight-car Formula Drift pack immediately. On PS5, the Car Pass begins on January 26, 2027.

The four Car Pass cars in the current Horizon Meets series, per Forza.net, are the 1972 Datsun 240Z #5 Rallye (October 8), 2024 Ferrari Purosangue (October 15), 1990 Eunos Cosmo (October 22) and 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4Matic+ (October 29).

• You can drive some DLC cars without owning them in Spec Racing. Series 6 added the 1990 Alfa Romeo SE 048SP, 2023 Audi R8 Coupé V10 GT RWD and 1990 Nissan #12 Skyline GT-R JTC to Spec Racing for everyone.
• The Koenigsegg Gemera, a contender for the fastest car, was Car Pass only at the time Red Bull wrote its list in June.

Which DLC is worth buying?

If you want both expansions, the Premium Edition or the $59.99 Premium Upgrade is the only bundle that covers everything. If you only care about cars, the Car Pass gives 38 cars for $29.99 but adds nothing to the map. VIP mostly pays back through double race credits and the free Tokyo City house, which otherwise costs 3,000,000 CR in-game; the Vision House and houses guide lists every property.

None of the DLC is needed for the Festival Playlist, Treasure Cars, Barn Finds or the main campaign.

What do you get for free?

Every monthly series adds free content for all owners. Series 6 alone added a Treasure Car (the 1970 Citroën 2CV), more than 50 engine swaps, 200 new Horizon Play levels, ten Spec Racing cars and a 7-Eleven prop pack for EventLab, garages and the Estate. The update page logs each series.
