Forza Horizon 6 Logitech G29 Settings (G920, G923)
On this page
What should you set in Logitech G Hub first?
Set steering rotation in G Hub, not in the game: changing sensitivity in game does not create a proper soft lock. Guides recommend an operating range of 540° for quick steering on tight roads, or 720° if 540° feels twitchy. One wiki lists 900° instead, so rotation is a matter of preference.
Keep G Hub sensitivity at 50 and the centering spring off or very low, and calibrate the pedals if the throttle or brake shows phantom input.
What are good in-game wheel settings for a G29?
This starting setup is from Brian Koponen's G29/G920 guide, which several other sites repeat. Treat it as a baseline and adjust one slider at a time.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Vibration | On |
| Invert Force Feedback | Off |
| Steering Axis Deadzone Inside / Outside | 0 / 100 |
| Steering Linearity | 50 |
| Vibration Scale | 0.5 |
| Force Feedback Scale | 0.8 |
| Center Spring Scale | 0.0 |
| Wheel Damper Scale | 0.0 |
| Mechanical Trail Scale | 1.0 |
| Force Feedback Minimum Force | 0.9 |
| Force Feedback Load Sensitivity | 0.5 |
| Road Feel Scale | 0.4 |
| Off-Road Feel Scale | 0.2 |
| Steering Sensitivity | 0.5 |
What do the force feedback sliders actually do?
- Force Feedback Scale is really the aligning torque, the main force you feel. Too high makes the wheel heavy and jerky, especially on dirt.
- Mechanical Trail Scale mostly controls how light the wheel gets as you enter understeer. The developers recommend leaving it at its default.
- Force Feedback Minimum Force is the pneumatic trail aligning torque; lowering it lightens the wheel.
- Load Sensitivity widens the range of forces the wheel can show; lowering it also lightens the wheel.
- Vibration Scale and Center Spring: Koponen found vibration scale seems to do nothing and center spring has no noticeable effect.
Where do the guides disagree?
Skycoach argues that gear-driven wheels like the G29 can feel loose with zero spring and damper. It suggests raising Center Spring Scale toward 0.8 to 1.0, Wheel Damper toward 0.2 to 0.5 and Mechanical Trail toward 1.0 to 1.3, but warns that going above 1.0 on Center Spring cancels the force feedback and creates a lag effect. It also says force feedback feels lighter at the same values than in Forza Horizon 5.
If the Koponen baseline feels vague, try Skycoach's spring and damper values next; if it feels heavy, stay with Koponen and lower Force Feedback Scale.
How do you fix common wheel problems?
KeenGamer's general advice before tuning anything: update the wheel firmware, set up the wheelbase correctly, then tune the in-game settings one section at a time.
| Problem | Try this |
|---|---|
| Wheel too loose | Raise Mechanical Trail first |
| Too heavy or jerky on dirt | Lower Force Feedback Scale, Road Feel and Off-Road Feel |
| Wheel snaps or pulls to one side | Re-bind all controls even if the game says it recognises the wheel; one Logitech Pro owner fixed it this way |
| Car slides too much on the wheel | Lower Force Feedback Scale; a G923 owner reported that was the only change needed |
| Steering not syncing (G26, PXN and other wheels) | No wheel-specific fix is documented; KeenGamer's general order applies: update firmware, set rotation in the wheel's software, then re-bind controls |
When can you start using a wheel?
Wheel support is part of the settings menu, which Forza.net's starting guide says can be changed at any time. Red Bull reports that steering-wheel support was rebuilt for Forza Horizon 6. If you switch back to a controller, turn wheel steering off; see the controller guide.
