Forza Horizon 6 Map: Regions, Size and Key Landmarks

On this page

What regions are on the Forza Horizon 6 map?

Horizon Japan is divided into named regions, each with its own landscape. The Xbox achievement Racking Up The Miles asks you to discover all 10 regions, and the Steam community's XP board guide uses the same ten, counting Legend Island separately. Some map guides count seven large regions; the difference is only in how Tokyo City and Legend Island are grouped.

Forza.net's starting guide says the game begins in Tokyo City, passes through Hokubu, Nangan and Shimanoyama in the prologue, and ends at the Horizon Festival in the centre of the map.

How big is the Forza Horizon 6 map?

Playground Games has not published an official area figure. Stevivor measured about 20.5 miles from south to north in-game, which puts it among the largest Horizon maps by raw distance. Game.wiki gives about 18 miles across and compares it to roughly 14 miles for Forza Horizon 5's Mexico. Several other sites describe it as about twice FH5's land area.

Treat fan figures carefully. One guide quotes about 120 km² but lists regions called Osaka, Kyoto and Hokkaido that do not exist in the game, and another claims five regions. Playground's own claim is about the city: Forza.net calls Tokyo City its largest urban area ever, and preview coverage such as The Drive's first look reported it as about five times larger than previous Horizon cities.

Where is the golf course?

The golf course is Naruo Golf Course, near the centre of the Minamino region beside the Airfield Trail dirt race, per Dot Esports. The map does not give it a large landmark icon, so zoom in and look for green fairways, sand traps and curved cart paths. The Naruo Cross Country circuit runs through it.

Players look for it for three reasons: the 1969 Dodge Charger R/T Treasure Car sits behind the clubhouse, the Series 3 #AfternoonTee photo challenge asked for a 1997 Maserati Ghibli Cup there, according to Escorenews, and an off-road trail on its west side is the easiest route to Ruriko-ji Temple.

Where are the landmarks players search for?

Kinkaku-ji, the test track players build on the Estate and the Shimanoyama drift circuit also come up in searches. Their exact positions are still to be confirmed by a reliable source, so they are not placed here yet.

How do you reveal the whole map?

Roads are hidden until you drive them. Revealing everything unlocks The Horizon Cartographer achievement, worth 50 Gamerscore. Smashing Fast Travel boards makes fast travel cheaper, and Red Bull notes the new fog-of-war map is one of the game's smartest additions. The XP boards guide explains the board types.

How does it compare with other open-world maps?

Comparisons with CarX Street and other racers mostly come from video creators rather than published measurements, so there is no reliable side-by-side size figure. Against its own series, the map is denser than Forza Horizon 5's Mexico; the FH6 vs FH5 comparison covers what changed.
