How are Forza Horizon 6 and GT7 different?

They are built for different players. Forza Horizon 6 puts everything inside one connected map of Japan: Tokyo streets, highways, touge roads, countryside and off-road routes, with events that flow into each other. Gran Turismo 7 is about choosing a circuit and a car, learning the track, braking cleanly and finding small gains lap after lap.

Progression reflects that. FH6 uses Festival goals, wristbands and the Discover Japan stamps; GT7 uses Menu Books and licences. FH6's online play centres on social, co-op and open-world events, while GT7's centres on ranked circuit racing.

The fan guide also lists a 96-player open world for FH6 and 16-player lobbies for GT7. Those numbers are unofficial, so they are left out of the table.

Which looks better?

Digital Foundry briefly compared the two. A widely shared summary of that comparison noted it was not apples to apples, given open world versus closed circuits, and that the five-year-old GT7 holds up favourably in the example shown. Other viewers argued the capture did not show FH6 at its best. Both are among the best-looking racers available; FH6's ray-traced PC settings are covered on the best settings page.

Can you play both on PS5?
